I am going to share with you an easy detox recipes that you can do daily to help your body eliminate built up toxins and waste from your system.

Most of you at some point in time would have gone on a crash detox diet where you have only a certain few food groups, a strange tonic and some very strict rules about what you can and can’t transfer from hand to mouth! The 3 day to 14 day detox’s are great for you and I would recommend them as a weight loss tool. Because as we all know that what goes down must come up…especially if we are starving our bodies of calories dropping weight fast and then returning to our usual western diets laden with carbs sugar, alcohol and processed foods.

In fact I’m sure most of you will find that if you starve then the weight comes back on and then some!

So what can we do daily to help keep our bodies healthy, our weight stable and in a healthy range and limit the build-up of toxins and waste in our intestines, livers and internal organs?



ADD AN EPIC GREEN JUICE….I am going to share with you one of my favourite drinks that I have daily and I’ll also explain why and what it does for you. The idea is that you are giving the body back the nutrients it needs to safely and naturally go through its own detox process without having to strip down to a naked diet of citrus juices, spices and water…..hmm

Here we go ...THE EPIC GREEN DAILY DETOX JUICE...

Ingredients for two people:

Make sure on day one that you only have a really small glass and work your way up as it may be a shock to your system at first!

A juicer! You can pick one up on trade me/ EBay for around $100 and it’s the best investment you will ever make (article to come on why!)
All ingredients are RAW

4 Sticks of Celery
3 inch long piece of zucchini
1 knob of ginger (you don’t have to have this if you don’t like ginger)
1 bunch of Parsley
1 sprig of Coriander
½ a Cucumber
1/4 a lemon
1 cup of spinach
3 Teaspoons of liquid Chlorophyll- available for $15 from your nearest health store

Finished product!!!


So quickly here’s a few great facts on how each of these ingredients benefits you in your daily detox!

Celery
Celery is one of the planet’s most hydrating juices! It naturally alkalises the body- that is it balances the natural ph. levels, when our body is too acidic it leads to inflammation and disease. The Oils in celery help to keep the nervous system regular which enable your body to send and receive the correct message to eliminate the harmful toxins within. Celery contains high levels of potassium which regulates fluid levels, ( no bloating!) high in vitamin B1,B2,B6 and C. Celery has at least 8 types of anti-cancer compounds, it fights inflammation, aids in digestion, lowers the bad cholesterol and contains organic salt ( sodium) for aiding in hydration quickly. Most importantly though it’s a diuretic so will help rid the body of the extra fluid that you’re carrying


Zucchini
This little creature has some AMAZING benefits, to name just a few- Prevention of cancer, including prostate cancer, reduces inflammation in the body caused by a western diet, alcohol and lack of exercise, lowers cholesterol, lots of fibre for healthy bowels ,heart attack and stroke prevention, and as well as all of these it actually helps you r body to metabolise proteins and carbs, helps produce the sex hormones, protects the mitochondria on your body against oxidative stress and aids with proper wound healing.

Ginger
Anti-inflammatory, anti-flatulent, aids in removing ecoli induced sickness, anti-microbial, great for reducing nausea especially in pregnant women and settling upset or bloated tummy’s

Parsley
High levels of chlorophyll- see below, anti-oxidants which keeps your cells healthy and disease free, anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory

Coriander
Aids in removing heavy metals from the body as well as anti-inflammatory. Helps with menstrual issues, skin disorders, mouth ulcers, prevents eye aging and sight degeneration, digestion and blood sugar levels- you could write a book on everything else this amazing herb does but those are the ones we will start with!

Cucumber
Promotes joint health, aids in digestion and a healthy intestinal track, and helps to fight type 2 diabetes

Chlorophyll
Chlorophyll is one of our most beneficial substances it helps to rebuild and replenish our vital red blood cells as well as acting as a natural deodoriser for the body from inside out. Chlorophyll helps promote detoxification of the body, fights infections, regulates the body, anti-carcinogenic, anti-inflammatory, and also binds to the heavy metals in your body and removes them

Now if you don’t have a juicer and it’s not likely you will any time soon then throw a few of any of these veges into your daily diet – but make sure they are raw in a salad or disguise one in your smoothies with some fruit. If none of these are suiting you then even just adding the 3 teaspoons of chlorophyll to your diet with some water will still be a massive benefit for you
